Artist's Comments
So, I've been listening to Firelies by Owl City non stop for the past few days and while I was listening to it this idea poped in my head.
So, originally that kid was a girl (a self portrait to be exact) but then somewhere along the line I lost most of the hair and now it's "Sam" (my sister couldn't wrap her head around it being someone other then Sam) I failed fantastically at trying to make this look like it's at night. I changed a few of the shadows so it looks a little better. As for the random space: I originally intended the space to be to the upper right instead of upper left but I would have to draw the rest of Bee's arm. Since I'm lazy, I just finished his door-wing instead. The original sketch was definitely a lot lazer then my "lineart" Uh I'll classify this as speedpaint since, eventhough it took about 4-5 hours total to get this done, only about an hour was actual painting. Lots of relining and erasing EDITZ So, ~Dragon-Of-Sapphire gave me some advice about adding blue to the characters. Um... I don't think I did enough so now it just looks more contrasted so...
